The best of 2024 | Chris Smith Photography
I can’t believe it’s time to do one of these again! I suppose that’s one of the drawbacks of being so busy with both work and my family that the whole year flies by in a blur. At the time I guess I don’t get to fully appreciate just how wonderful the year has been… It’s been hectic at times, but I’m seriously over the moon with the work that I’ve been able to create for my couples.
And that’s why I guess this job for me in January, once all the Christmas food and drink has settled and the kids are back at school, is one of my favourite things to do – it’s always at the top of my ‘to do’ list this time of year.
I’ve spent the last week or so looking back through the whole of 2024, going through every single wedding and selecting my favourites. Believe it or not, I pretty much know when something is going to be special enough to make the final cut for my year review right there and then as I take the photographs. This still gives me a huge buzz creating something special at each and every wedding.
Here’s a few stats for you:
41 incredible weddings photographed across the UK.
24 different venues photographed
Approximately 245,000 images taken.
22,184 photographs edited and delivered.
Lots of new venues visited along with some old favourites too.
Calories consumed at weddings: ??? I better not try to estimate that, but it’s safe to say venues have done an amazing job of keeping me fed and watered, they really do spoil us suppliers!
So, what does 2025 have in store for me? Well, more of the same really, lots of great weddings booked that I’m already getting excited for. But first, I have a hugeeee DIY list that my wife has been adding to in anticipation for me having some downtime!
To each and every one of the couples, venues and other suppliers that I’ve worked with this year, a huge thank you for continuing to make my work an absolute dream.
Anyway, here it is – the all-important picture bit of the blog. Enjoy!
