Shannon & Craig – Makeney Hall Wedding

Makeney Hall is a beautiful setting – so it was a great way to spend the day photographing a really great couple with so many photo opportunities on offer!

With both bride and groom getting ready in the same place, it made getting all of the preparation and arrival shots at the venue nice and easy. Shannon is such a chilled bride which made things even easier!

A beautiful ceremony was followed by a few quick family group shots on the lawn and confetti. After a few drinks and some time with their guests, we headed out into the gardens for some couple shots, which included the first time I’ve ever seen a bride karate tackle the groom right in front of the guests – thankfully it turns out they’re both experts!

After the meal and speeches we were lucky enough to get a beautiful sun-set, and Makeney is one of only a few venues in Derbyshire that sets up perfectly for a dramatic evening shot like this. We headed down to the bottom field just below the hall where there was a huge puddle after rain earlier in the week, this provided a beautiful reflection, and rewarded us with one of my best ever wedding shots. It’s pretty rare that everything works perfectly like this, but when it does, it’s stunning!

Yet another great day at Makeney Hall, looking forward to quite a few weddings here this coming year – and congratulations to the fantastic new Mr & Mrs Munn.
